The general idea is reinforced by two integral concepts
- Micro Approach
- Network effect
The long term objective at hand is the betterment of the family itself. The macro outcome is simply an aggregation of micro components. From student to family to community. The positive outcome is hence passed down in this order. The other aspect of the Micro approach entails specifically helping a locality rather than a sweeping agenda to help the disadvantaged across Singapore.
The network effect is modeled closely after the Japanese business system of Keiretsu. Essentially it requires all social institutions within the vicinity to establish a heightened level of co-operation. Social welfarism is a positive sum game, no one loses and everyone benefits and as such when social institutions collaborate they are able to draw from the synergy and resources that comes from cooperation.
